The Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area encompasses a grand 125,000 acres of the Cumberland Plateau. Located within driving distance of Nashville, Knoxville, Lexington, and Chattanooga you’ll find all the wonders of the Smokies without the crowds.
With scenic gorges, sandstone bluffs, and rich natural and historical features there is something new to see on every trail. We give you access to over 320 miles of trails (the second largest network of public horse trails east of the Mississippi River) that take you deep into the experience of the Big South Fork.
